It depends on the number of registrants for that particular season.
MLL conducts a 1-day evaluation open to anyone wishing to play in the league, meeting all of the eligibility requirements. If you are unable to attend the evalutation day there is usually a makeup day scheduled soon after. Each player will be evaluated on their throwing, fielding and batting skills. NO ONE IS CUT. Using these evaluations, the coaches will participate in a draft that will fill out each team’s roster fairly.
No they do not.
The evaluation takes place sometime in January, and practices start in early April. Games start in mid-April. The championship game for the Majors League & end of season cookout will be in late June. Sign-up on our MLL Blog or follow us on Facebook to stay up to date with news and events!
When games start, there are 2 games and 1 practice every week.
Weekdays start at 5:30pm and Saturdays can be any time between 8:00am and 5:30pm. Your team schedule will show the actual times once you are placed on a team. Coaches will tell you what time to be at the field.
MLL provides each player a hat, shirt, pants, and stockings. Each team is issued practice and game balls, some batting helmets and bats, as well as catching equipment, including catcher’s glove. Each player should provide his/her own glove, baseball cleats and proper practice clothing. They may also bring their own bat, batting helmet and catcher’s equipment. All players in AA and Majors leagues MUST wear an athletic supporter/cup.
